I’m an independent filmmaker and actor, my first movie, Be My Cat: A Film for Anne, received international acclaim, and now I’m looking for private investors to make my next movie We Put the World to Sleep. It’s a found footage apocalyptic antihero feature film about three young idealists disappointed with the world who join forces and embark on a mission to bring everything to an end. Directed, produced & written by me, starring Erisse Peterson, Duru Yücel Țofei & myself, with Jay Sorensen and Danha Yunes attached as Executive Producers.
Shooting is scheduled to start on May 15th, 2018. I need more money to shoot the movie, edit it and send it to festivals. You’ll receive a percentage of revenues according to your investment, plus associate producer or executive producer credits, plus you’ll be invited to join us at all the international film festivals!
Here are the required investments for each perk:
- $2,500 to $3,000: Associate Producer credit + 5% to 6% of revenues + invitation to join us at film festivals
- $5,000: Executive Producer credit + 10% or revenues + invitation to join us at film festivals [Update: this can no longer be claimed, we can only accept one more investment between $2,500 and $3,000 for the Associate Producer credit]
The first movie I directed, produced, wrote and starred in, Be My Cat: A Film for Anne, is Romania’s first found footage horror movie and won numerous awards and critical acclaim, including Best Film at A Night of Horror Film Festival in Sydney and Best Actor at Nashville Film Festival. It was was called “terrifying” by Austin Chronicle, “the most revolutionary found footage film since The Blair Witch Project” by ANOH, and was included in Dread Central’s Top 5 Best Horror Movies of 2016 and Blumhouse’s Top 5 New Intelligent Found Footage Films You Need to See. Artsploitation said that I did in “the most believable movie psychopath since Normal Bates“. It was recently acquired by a top distributor and will get a wide digital release in a couple of months.
I plan to do We Put the World to Sleep based on controlled improvisation, just like I did Be My Cat: A Film for Anne, then premiere it in one of the world’s top film festivals (Cannes, Sundance, TIFF, Venice, Berlin, Telluride, SXSW, Tribeca), secure a top distributor, travel the festival circuit and get a limited theatrical release, or at least all the major VOD platforms.
